The IBM 5494 Remote Control Unit provides access to an AS/400 for remote workstation users. Remote users get the same capabilities as if they were locally attached to the AS/400.

Note: Features 1210 and 1500 allow one to connect up to 80 LAN devices to a 5494. This allows for any mixture of twinaxial and LAN devices (up to a maximum of 56 twinaxial devices when using feature 1200) as long as the total number of devices is 80 or less.

IBM 5394 Midrange Controller
The 5394 IBM Remote Control Unit manages the operation of attached workstations and allows the workstations to communicate with a host system. Host systems supported are System/3x and AS/400. The 5394 is an enhanced follow-on product to the 5294 remote control unit.
